Lots of Success

Happy Belated Valentines/Presidents day!

We were snowed in yesterday so we couldn’t do much of anything. We didn't get much snow, but it was all the ice that kept us in. So that’s why we get to email this morning.

Sounds like everyone there is doing well, and working hard.

Congrats Andrew on playing basketball, and scoring! Yeah, for someone who doesn’t play basketball sounds like you make a good player. You probably never thought you’d play, but I just want to say I told ya so! :) 12 pts, pshh I wish I could score that many in a season :)

Speaking of basketball I threw out my back yesterday playing....I feel like a 50 year old man, but good news is I’ve lost about 10 lbs :), so I should be more healthier :) My back is just stiff this morning. I probably need another back adjustment, good thing our ward mission leader is a chiropractor.

LOTS of SUCCSESS this past week. I have basically put Murfreesboro "back on the map" according to President and the Assistants. For a while this area was not seeing much of anything, even when I first got here a couple months ago there was not much to look forward to. But the Lord has blessed me and my companion TREMENDOUSLY. We set baptism dates back to back, one on Sunday and one last evening. The first one is indeed a miracle. We did not do much of anything. His name is Sidney Sandstrom. He and his soon to be family have been waiting for 4 years to get his adoption finalized, and they will be finalized next Monday!
They called, actually we called her because Sister Sandstrom has been on my mind for the past couple of weeks, so I decided to call her, and she told me that their adoption was being finalized on the 22nd, and then she said Sidney wanted to be baptized that night! So we taught them what they needed to be taught after church on Sunday. And the amazing thing is they will be sealed together as a family for ALL time and eternity that weekend. So blessings and miracles are happening.

The other date we set was with a new investigator that we found last Thursday. Which for the mission was "NO FEAR DAY" where we talk to everyone and find as many as potential investigators as possible. Anyways last night was the first time that we taught her, her name is Tammy. She is very receptive and humble. What was awesome is she had no idea there was another testament of Jesus Christ, so that already sparked her attention, taught her the 1st lesson, and she loved it, had little difficulty trying to understand authority, but that is the main concern here with everybody in the South, no one seems to understand it but we have to explain it simply enough for them to understand it.

Tell Oma Viv that I wrote her a letter and to be expecting it in the mail within the next week. I have ALOT of catching up on letter writing. I’ve been slacking on that a lot lately. But tell everyone I appreciate them writing to me, and when I have the time, which is very little then I will write them. Being District Leader is very time consuming, more so than I thought, but let everyone know that I love them and appreciate their support, and will try to find time this week to write everyone back :)

On Saturday we had the opportunity to go talk with a pastor at another church. World Outreach Church, one of the largest churches in Middle Tennessee. He actually was a very nice guy. We have been told by other people that they kick Mormons out if they find out who we were, but when they asked, they to my surprise accepted us in, the pastor actually tried to invite us to be rebaptized. Which I thought was strange, but they got to do what they got to do. We also went to their church services, and it pretty much was like a rock concert, so I see why people like to go there now though.

Our week has been a good week, can't believe how fast time goes by though. I’m trying to slow it down, but it doesn't seem to work...so whenever you find out how to slow it down PLEASE let me know.

Well I can’t think of anything else I need, other than a Reese’s valentine heart :), you know that’s my favorite. My new companion is Elder Johnson. He's from Chandler, Arizona. We get along great. We are very unified, which is even better.

That’s all from me this week

Love yall

Elder Edgell

It's been fun reading your blog. Keep up the good work Elder. I served in the TNM back in 96, and I loved it!
