Going Forth

Finally! Elder Edgell is heading back to Tennessee. He actually will be serving in Sulphur Well, Edmonton, Kentucky. It's in the northeast section of the mission. From what his mission president told me this morning, Sulphur Well is a great area to serve. One that is having great success. There is a small branch there and lots of opportunity for service in the area.
He will have the opportunity to serve with an Elder who was at the Missionary Training Center with him back in February. Elder Reeder (not sure of the spelling) is from Canada.
The plane departed around 3:20 today and after changing planes in Atlanta (an adventure in itself) he will arrive in Nashville around 5:40pm. Elder Edgell was SO anxious and excited to be returning to his mission.
Check back weekly for updates. We should have news from Sulphur Well, Kentucky next Monday.
By the way, mom did okay at the airport and yes there were a few tears. What can I say, I'm his momma and always will be! :-)

Finally!

Tim received a phone call on Monday the 3rd from his Stake President with the news that he will be returning to the Tennessee Nashville Mission on Monday, August 10th.
He will be set apart again as a full time missionary tomorrow, Sunday the 9th.
We are all very excited, especially Elder Edgell. He is anxious to get back to the Lord's work and the wonderful people in Tennessee.
Grateful for our blessings!

"And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint"

It's been over two weeks and Elder Edgell has survived. Mom did too. :-)
GOOD NEWS! The knee has done very well.
Tim has had an interview with the Stake President and is awaiting word from Missionary Department as to when he will return.
It's like waiting for the mission call to come all over again.

So until then....

Onward ever onward...Forward pressing forward...

Again we travelled to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, this time in the early hours of the morning. What a difference going that time of day - not much traffic and parking was perfect.
MRI showed some irritation under the knee cap - which we already knew - but nothing else. No damage to anything "mechanical" (ligament, cartilage, meniscus,etc.).
SO, Dr. Alexander cleared Tim to return to his mission.
Phone calls were made and here is what is happening:
Tim has to walk 4 to 5 miles a day for two weeks to see how his knee holds up. He will also continue to work on keeping the missionary schedule. Letters from doctor, Tim and the Stake President will be written and then the Missionary Department will make the decision when Tim will be able to return to Tennesse to complete his mission.
So we will be whistling while we walk :-) and grateful for our many blessings.

Here We Go Again

The adventures continue.
We braved the traffic on the beltway and beyond going and coming last Wednesday the 24th to see Dr. Alexander at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He is puzzled and wants another MRI done to see current condition of Elder Edgell's knee. We were able to get an appointment for the MRI at 5am at Walter Reed on July 1st and will be able to see Dr. Alexander same morning at 8 (Thanks to Dr. Alexander) It really is short of a miracle how it worked out. Blessings, blessings.
You may be thinking 5am is early and yes, it is. But traffic and parking should be great. For those of you who have ever made the drive to Walter Reed and tried to park will understand.
Stay tuned...

Update

At PT appointment today the therapist said Tim needs to go back to Ortho Doc. Knee pain is increasing. We were able to get an appointment at Walter Reed on June 24th.
Not the report we would like but will press forward with faith.
